Burgonyon
Burgonyon is the Imperial seat and the center of politics for the ten kingdoms. Emperor Theophilus Eicke rules both the empire and the kingdom from the capital city Burgonyon. The Emperor, by law, is the only ruler with a standing, professional army. The Emperor, through his vast bureaucracy, also funds a large percentage of the standing adventuring charters. These factors make Burgonyon paradoxically the safest kingdom to live in but also a destination for people looking for adventure.
Â
Girony
Girony is the second most cosmopolitan kingdom in the empire due to its proximity to Burgonyon and the fact that the emperor's cousin is the ruler. Girony lays claim to the most prestigious magic academy in the empire. Many believe that Horst Kleinman the Prime Scholar of the academy, who also serves as advisor to the Emperor, may hold as much political power in the Empire as any of its kings. Girony's people are industrious, well educated, and have spawned a thriving middle class.
Emerald Coast
The kingdom of Emerald Coast is home to some of the finest sailors and fishermen in the empire. Like Nordgaard, it is subject to raiding by the Dragonborn barbarians but they rarely venture far past the Northern shores so many of the citizens live without the fear of that threat.
Sky Hold
Sky Hold is a mountainous, rugged kingdom and the people that live there tend to match that in their demeanor. The tall mountain ranges of Sky Hold provide much of the ore and rare minerals that the empire consumes. King Tobias Menger's family has accumulated vast wealth over the generations by taxing the exports of the many mines of this kingdom. Some say he is even more wealth than the emperor. A rumor that drives a wedge between the Mengers and the Eickes.
Moyne
Moyne is home to vast fertile plains fed by rivers flowing from the mountains of Sky Hold. The farms of Moyne are some of the most bountiful in the Empire and provide the majority of the food consumed by its neighbors.
Tolma
The smallest of the 10 kingdoms, Tolma is also the poorest. Tolma does not standout among the kingdoms as remarkable for any of its products but its people are hardy and proud none the less.
Mulenbach
While smaller than most of the other kingdoms Mulenbach's proximity to the few population centers of Skyhold give it a measure of importance as much of the mineral wealth exported from Sky Hold flows through Mulenbach's ports to the other kingdoms. It's a somewhat inefficient arrangement but the ruling families of the two kingdoms have long had agreements in place to maintain that flow.
New Thierot
New Theriot is site of the first landfall of the diaspora and is named for the long lost home of its people. Its Eastern reaches are vast plains of airable land and the coastline of this part of the kingdom hosts several prosperous port cities. The West of New Theriot is dominated by rugged, hilly land covered with dense forests. The people of New Theriot are as rugged as their land. They typically hold a no nonsense approach to life, work hard, and pride themselves as being the first people to wrest Ahuin from the Elves.
Harrow
Harrow is the least populated of the 10 kingdoms. Its geography is dominated by heavy, old growth forests that provide hard woods to the Northern kingdoms of the empire. The interior is a wild an dangerous place that is rumored to still be the home of ancient and powerful elemental beings.
Nordgaard
Nordgaard is a Northern, and largely coastal, kingdom of Ahuin. Its people are physically distinct from most other Ahuinians, being taller and more fair of skin and hair. The people of Nordgaard largely trace their lineage back to a different tribe from the other humans of Ahuin. They came as part of the diaspora and helped tame the continent but won the right to their own kingdom. Their king still pays fealty to the emperor but by tradition are allowed their own customs. This tradition still holds today mostly because of the service that Nordgaard provides the rest of the kingdoms. It is the most common target of Dragonborn raids and the warriors of Nordaard have a lo????? from the other kingdoms in that they are the only people to be comfortable sailing out of sight of their coastlines.
